Firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr. is killed in action.

A third-generation firefighter Kilduff, a West Roxbury resident, Marine veteran, and father of two is killed fighting a fire at 18 Treadway Road. He is described as a quintessential rescue man” who had “probably been to more fires than any firefighter currently employed by the Boston Fire Department,” by Boston Fire Rescue Company Company Two Lt. Greg Kelly.
